Register for Run to Read 2024!

Join the D54 Education Foundation, School District 54 and our Title Sponsor, Northwest Ballet Academy, at the 20th annual Run to Read on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Dirksen School. This event will include a 5K run/walk, a 1-mile walk and children’s races. This year the event will be hosted by the District 54 Education Foundation. The District 54 Education Foundation is committed to supporting students today and preparing students for tomorrow. It does that primarily by providing support to children from financially struggling families.

With this change in host, there is also a change in how the funds will be spent. All funds raised this year will be used to support programs for these families. By meeting the basic needs of students, they are preparing students to be successful at school, thus the name Run to Read still applies. 

Not a runner? With a $10 donation, you can sponsor a D54 student whose family cannot afford to participate in this race. For $20, you can sponsor 2 children. For $100 you can sponsor 10. You get the idea.

Race Day Timeline

7:00 a.m. Race day registration and packet pickup

7:30 a.m. Mascot Race

8:00 a.m. 100-yard and 400-yard races for children

9:00 a.m. 5K Run (USATF certified IL-18019-WR)

9:15 a.m. 1-mile walk (strollers allowed on walk and run)

T-shirts and Medals

Every registrant will receive a T-shirt and a finisher’s medal. To guarantee you receive a T-shirt in your preferred size, make sure to register by September 4, 2024. Any registrations or orders received after September 4 will be given T-shirts based on availability.

Other sponsorship opportunities include $1,000 gold sponsors and $500 silver sponsors. Don’t forget your donation is tax-deductible. If you want to help, but can’t commit to sponsoring this event, please consider a flat donation. Make your tax-deductible check payable to District 54 Education Foundation and mail it to District 54 Education Foundation, 524 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, IL 60194.

Registration Packet – $200

  • There is no cost for organizations donating an item of value to the registration packets (i.e. a water bottle, free meal coupons, etc.).
  • The cost is $200 for any organization to place an advertisement in the registration packet.
  • We expect up to 1,500 participants.
  • Items are due by Friday, August 30, 2024, to the D54 Rafferty Administration Center, 524 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg. 

Tables at Run to Read - $175

  • Share information about your organization from a table at the event (indoor and outdoor options available).
  • Name mentioned in a thank you flyer in each registration packet
  • Name on Run to Read website and in foundation newsletter
