Andy Murray

Andy has served on the board since 2014 and is currently the Foundation Chair. He has a son in his sophomore year in high school who attended both Buzz Aldrin Elementary and Robert Frost Junior High. He also has and a sixth-grade daughter attending Buzz Aldrin Elementary, and his wife Kara also volunteers at Aldrin. 

Andy became involved with the D54 Education Foundation because he wanted to give back to the community that has done so much for his family over the past 10 years.  Andy says, “In addition to the first-class education my kids have received, we love the District’s commitment to social-emotion learning and I’ve seen the impact this has had on my kids.”  He considers himself one of the biggest cheerleaders for the District and is always willing to step in to help the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.

Over the last six years he has served on the on the Golf Committee, Executive Committee and has led fundraising efforts for community partners. Andy is committed to building relationships with local area businesses and recruiting new trustees to the Foundation. Outside of his volunteer work Andy works as the Director of Sales for Plaidypus, Inc., a custom software development firm located in Naperville.
